How we help

Support built around the individual.

Leaving prison can mean rebuilding several parts of life at once. Working alongside our partnering bodies, we bring together safe short-term housing, consistent one-to-one support and opportunities to connect with others.

Accommodation and support

A stable place to start again.

A safe place to stay can make it easier to focus on what comes next. ARK provides ex-prisoners with short-term housing and support at a time when they are most in need of it.

Housing is part of the wider picture. Our individually tailored programmes also focus on mental wellbeing, skills, education and employment opportunities, helping people work towards life back in the community.

Safety matters throughout resettlement. Learn more about our approach to safeguarding.

Our shared focus

More than a single step forward.

Across our support programmes, we focus on the foundations that can help people rebuild their lives and reduce the risk of reoffending.

Mental wellbeing

Making wellbeing part of the conversation as people adjust to life after prison.

Skill development

A focus on developing skills that can support everyday life and future goals.

Education

Considering learning opportunities as part of an individual's next chapter.

Employment

Keeping employment opportunities in view when planning for the future.

Support groups and mentoring

You do not have to face change alone.

Consistent support is an important part of resettlement. Our one-to-one and group support gives people opportunities to talk about challenges, consider their goals and build connections.

One-to-one mentoring

Individual support with space to focus on personal circumstances and what matters to the person taking part.

Group and community support

Opportunities to connect with others, share perspectives and feel less alone during a period of change.

Programmes and partnerships

Building connections beyond prison.

Resettlement is about finding a place in the community as well as a place to stay. Our projects and work alongside partnering bodies support that wider purpose.

The AfEO Project

AfEO is part of ARK's programme offering. Contact us to find out more about the project, participation and how it may relate to your support needs.
