Community. Confidence. A fresh start.
Community Action Plan to Retrain Ex-offenders
Tailored community support in London for people on probation and young adults who have had contact with the criminal justice system. Together, we work towards greater stability and positive alternatives to crime.
Who we support
CARE focuses on a younger age group and supports people at risk of offending or reoffending. A conviction is not a requirement for the project’s early-intervention focus.
The project targets people aged 18-30, offering support at a time when positive opportunities can help shape a different future.
Moral support, education and community engagement help people on probation reconnect safely with their communities.
CARE also reaches people who have had any contact with the criminal justice system, even if they have not been convicted.
Support beyond accommodation
CARE is ARK Resettlement Services’ first non-accommodation-based programme. Through activities and community engagement sessions, we provide support that helps people take part in community life.
The focus is on moral support, education, community support and awareness. Rebuilding connections can offer encouragement, a sense of belonging and space to consider new choices.
CARE is not an accommodation programme. If housing is your main concern, explore our separate housing support and talk to us about your circumstances.

Our mission is to increase stability, self-confidence, employment and housing opportunities, helping to end the cycle of reoffending.
We aim for participants to report reduced stress and anxiety, improved mental wellbeing and a greater ability to cope.
Building confidence, self-esteem and motivation to succeed helps people recognise their strengths and work towards a positive lifestyle.
We aim to reduce the risk of reoffending and encourage safer behaviour in shared spaces, including observing social distancing.
Building stability
Education, employment and a stable place to live can all play a part in successful resettlement. CARE’s goals recognise how closely these practical needs connect with confidence and wellbeing.
Progress can begin with identifying what matters most: feeling more settled, reconnecting with others or considering a new direction. Positive alternatives to crime need to feel meaningful in everyday life.
